CURECANTI NEEDLE, BLACK CANON

The Gunnison River, one of those charming crystalline mountain torrents, flows through the narrow confines of the Black Canon. About midway in the canon, rises a detached pinnacle of solid stone, a thousand feet in height, which is known as Curecanti Needle. It is here that the Rio Grande has come for their official emblem.
