LANCASTER COUNTY | LOUP COUNTY Taylor is the county seat of Loup County. First settled around 1873, the county was organized in 1883 with the town of Kent as the county seat. Later that same year it was moved to Taylor. Today, Taylor is the only town in Loup County. In 1890 the population of the county was 1662. MORRILL COUNTY Located in the western part of Nebraska, it borders Banner, Scottbluff, Cheyenne, Garden, Sheridan, Box Butte, Sioux and Kimball (almost) counties. The North Platte River runs through the middle of it. Bridgeport is the county seat. | THOMAS COUNTY Located in the southeast corner of Nebraska. First homesteaded in 1880, the county was not officially formed until 1887 by the Nebraska State Legislature. The county was named after General George H. Thomas, a Civil War general. Unlike some other counties, Thedford was the original county seat and still is.
