ARCHIBALD HAMILTON 1746
Archibald Hamilton was baptised June 9, 1746 in the parish of Dalserf, Lanark, Scotland. there was no notation in the Old Parish Register as to his birthdate. For simplicity, we use June 9, 1746 as his birthdate. His parents were John Hamilton and Jean Cram.
We have not found his marriage banns to Janet Small. Their first child was baptised in Strutherhill, Dalserf May 15, 1779. We have only found two other children to this couple, born 1782 and 1787.
We know from his daughter Janet's death records that Archibald Hamilton was a mason, which is probably what brought him to Stonehouse from Dalserf as the quarries were quite active in that time frame.
