Louise Saban
Funeral services for Louise Saban, 54, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Palmer Swenson officiating. Mrs. Saban died Saturday at the Washakie County Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1922 in Columbus, Georgia, the daughter of O.Z. and Mattie McDowell. She married James P. Saban at Phenix City, Alabama on May 7, 1945. She was raised and attended schools in Columbus.
In the fall of 1945 she and her husband moved to Worland where they have resided since (see note after). She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eagles Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Cub Scout den mother for six years and received several leadership awards as a den mother.
She is survived by her husband; her mother and step-father, Mattie and E. J. Meadors of Phenix City; one brother, David McDowell of Phenix City; one sister, JoAnn of Columbus, Georgia and four grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Velte Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
(My note: They did not actually move to Worland in 1945. Lived near Shell, Wyoming on Flitner Ranch in January 1947; then they moved to Thermopolis in 1947. It was about 1949 or early 1950 that they moved to Worland.)
