APPLICATION FOR ACCRUED PENSION

State of Maine, County of Penobscot ss:

On this tenth day of March 1887, personally appeared Hannah McKeen, who, being duly sworn, declares that she is the lawful widow of James McKeen, deceased; that he died on the 4 day of Feb 1887; that he had been granted a pension by Certificate No 75264 which is herewith returned (or if not, state why not); that he had been paid the pension by the Pension Agent at August ME up to the 4 day of Dec 1886; after which date he had not been employed or paid in the Army, Navy or Marine service of the United States, except -----------(blank); that she was married to the said James McKeen on the twenty eighth day of May 1837 at Eddington in the State of Maine; that her name before said marriage was Hannah D. Rowe; that she had not been previously married; that her husband had not been previously married; that she hereby makes application for the pension which had accrued on aforesaid cerificate to the date of death; and that her residence is Eddington, County of Penobscot, State of Maine, and her Post-office address is Eddington, Maine.

Also personally appeared Ephraim A Gorden residing at Eddington Maine and Frank F Floyd residing at Eddington Maine, who, being duly sworn, say that they were present and saw Hannah McKeen sign her name to the foregoing declaration; that they know her to be the lawful widow of James McKeen who died on the fourth day of February 1887; and that their means of knowledge that said parties were husband and wife, and that the husband died on said date, are as follows: That they were present at time of his death also at his funeral.
