Married Parthenia Fidelia Scott Crownover 19 December 1882 in Bond County, Illinois. Parthenia was the widow of Garrett Crownover (source-Linda Garrett).

Died - January 6, 1892 in Pocahontas Twp, Clinton County, Illinois. He died of pneumonia, duration 8 days. Parthenia died the same day, within three hours, of pneumonia, duration 6 days. D. R. Wilkens signed the death certificates, and both were buried in Sugg Cemetery.
