JANET TAYLOR 1750
Janet Taylor was born/baptised July 1, 1750 in Port on Monteith, Perth, Scotland to George Taylor and Janet Stirling. How she met James Meikle of Lesmahagow is still a mystery, but the Banns were published for their marriage on December 10, 1777 in both Lesmahagow and Port of Monteith parishes.
James and Janet moved down to Blackwood of Lesmahagow, Lanark Scotland by the time their son John was baptised in June 1780. They then moved to Stonehouse, Scotland sometime between November 1793 when daughter Janet was born in Blackwood and December of 1796 when Rachel was born in Stonehouse. We know Janet was still alive in 1799 when son William was born in Stonehouse. And that is the last mention of Janet we have found so far.
