George Hepner is listed as an Indian Agent in one census and is
mentioned in the "History of The State of Nebraska" by William G.
Cutler. He was appointed the 1st Indian Agent at the Omaha Reservation
in 1854. There was also a George Hepner listed in the 1836 Iowa
Territorial Census in Des Moines County. He was in the 1st Territorial
Legislative Council in 1838, the 2nd Legislative Council in 1840,the 4th
Legislative House of Representatives in 1841, the 5th Legislative
Assembly in 1842, the 1st Consitutional Convention in 1844, the 3rd
General Assembly in 1850 and the 4th General Assembly in 1852 all
representing Des Moines County, Iowa. George died 4 April 1857 in Mills
County, Iowa.

1. Lucinda Hepner, born about 1836 in Des Moines, Iowa. The 1850 census has her as age 19, which if true would indicate that George Hepner was married before and Lucinda was a child from that marriage. The next census however has her age as 16.

2. Unnamed male child, born between 1836 and 1840 and died before 1850.
