TRIBUTE TO MY AUNT

This page is dedicated to my Mother's sister, Alys. She was my alternate Mother as I was growing up. And she was always there for me. As I struggled to learn the violin, she was there to encourage and instruct. And it was Aunt Alys who taught me to sew. The photograph in the background will be available on her photo page, but is by far my favorite of her - my Aunt, my mentor, one of my heroes in life. Trust me, the angels have a wonderful violinist among them and one of the gentlest souls there ever was!

Born - January 14, 1907 in Bellwood, Nebraska. However, she always said she was born in Grand Island, Nebraska. The Bellwood comes from her father's work records (see John H. Wilson).

Married - Karl Christian Obluda on June 13, 1936 at her sister Doris Wilson Thompson's home in Westminster, Adams County, Colorado.

Karl was born November 12, 1907 in Brighton, Adams County, Colorado and died May 18, 1999 in Westminster, Adams County, Colorado. Buried with Alys and daughter Carol at Crown Hill Cemetery.
