EVANS - Lois Evans
Lois (Batty) Evans of Riverton died Wednesday, Feb 28, 2001, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. She was 73 years old.
A memorial service is Saturday, March 3 at 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Riverton. A church service and burial are in Wallsburg, Utah, on Monday.
She was born May 2, 1927, to Carl and Ethel Batty in Wallsburg. During World War II, she worked at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, building B-25 bombers.
On Dec 18, 1949, she married Max Evans. They lived in Utah for several years and in many other states before settling in Riverton, where they have lived for the past 27 years.
Mrs. Evans enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband, quilting, crocheting, sewing, bird watching, gardening and reading.
Survivors include her husband, Max; children Carla Evans, Vickie Carlson and her husband Mitch, Tom Evans and his wife Wendy, and Maureen Evans and her fiancee Mike Linden, all of Riverton. Grandchildren include Gina Tessman, Justin Sullivan, Ginger Harford, Tawnya Larson, Tisha Kennel, Teresa Carlson, Bill Carlson, Missy Carlson, Rebecca Evans, Sarah Evans, Tom Evans, Carlie Porter and Candice Porter.
Great grandchildren include Shadow, Cody, Dillon, Mariah, Jayson, Kayla, Leslea, Miranda, Garrett, Tel, Katherine, Kaylee and Jordan. Also surviving are brother Cullen Batty and family, and a special friend, Leona Anderson of Riverton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Leda, two nieces and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's children transport fund in care of: Richard and Shirley Fowler, 1024 Sierra Drive, Riverton, 82501.
The Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BRINGOLF - Steven Duane Bringolf
Steven Duane Bringolf, age 43, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at his ranch southeast of Riverton.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the United Methodist Church in Riverton. The Revs. Norm and Kathy Brown officiates. Burial follows at Mountain View Cemetery.
He was born Jan 3, 1958, in Lander to Jacob George and Edna Iva (Hancock) Bringolf. He attended grade school, junior high and high school in Riverton, spending his whole life on the family ranch. Family members described him as a born-again Christian.
Mr. Bringolf was a member of the Jeffrey City Fire Department.
Survivors include his mother, Edna Bringolf; grandmother Irma Mcguire; brother John Bringolf; sisters Janet Foxworthy, Judy Whitlock and June Laing; and sister-in-law Sharon Bringolf.
His father, Jacob Georgge, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the Jeffrey City Fire Department in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main St., Riverton, 82501.

HOOPENGARNER - Robert C. Hoopengarner
Services for lifelong Morton-area resident Robert C. "Bob" Hoopengarner are Friday, March 9 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home in lander.
The Rev. Sally Bub of the Holy Nativity Church of Kinnear officiates. Interment follows in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Hoopengarner died Monday, March 5, 2001, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.
Robert Clair "Bob" Hoopengarner was born Jan 28, 1915, at Lander, the son of Ross and Betty (Norman) Hoopengarner. He attended schools at Morton and was a 1931 graduate of Fremont County Vocational High School in Lander.
He has been involved with the family ranch all of his life.
He married the former Alice Mae "Molly" Kleist on June 22, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wis.
He was deferred from military service at the beginning of World War II because of the need for agricultural products. He enlisted in the U.S. Army before the war ended, serving with the infantry. He was assigned to an assault group and was part of a Browning Automatic Rifle team. Bob served in New Guinea and was part of the Philippine liberation and the Hiroshima occupation. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star.
Following his discharge from the military service, he returned to the family ranch near Diversion Dam.
In addition to his wife, "Molly" Hoopengarner, Bob is survived by a daughter, Pat Hoopengarner and his grandson, Ben Hoopengarner; one sister, Betty and Bill McAleenan of the Diversion Dam area and their children, Mary and Roger and Ross McAleenan.
Services are under the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.

WILLARD - Richard E. Willard
Former Dubois resident Richard E. Willard died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha, Neb. He was 75 years old.
A memorial service is Wednesday, March 7 at 2 p.m. at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook, Neb. A Memorial service in Dubois at the Assembey of God Church is Saturday, March 10 at 1 p.m.
He was born Jan 19, 1926, in Park Rapids, Minn., to Francis Lucy (Klesseck) Willard. He grew up and attended school in Hibbing, Minn.
Mr. Willard served in the U.S. Army from May 10, 1944, to May 8, 1946.
He worked in Texas before moving to Dubois, where he spent most of his life working in the sawmills. He spent the last 10 months in Danbury, Neb., with his daughter and family.
He was a member of the Dubois Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include four daughters, Rose Day of Danbury, Neb., Sandra Fisher of Denver, Betty Adkins and husband Harold of Danbury, and Maribel Porterfield of Leggett, Calif; one son, George Wasson of Lebanon, Neb; a brother, Jim Willard of Minnesota; four sisters, Dottie Hahn of South Dakota, Jean Dobson of Wyoming, Doris Bemrose of Arkansas and Frances Mousseau of Minnesota; 14 grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

ARAGON - Louis 'Luciano' Aragon
Services for Louis 'Luciano' Aragon, age 84, are Thursday, March 8 at 2 p.m. at Blue Sky Hall in Ethete, with burial to follow in Yellowcalf Cemetery.
A rosary will be said at a vigil for the deceased Wednesday evening, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Blue Sky Hall. Mr. Agagon's body will lie in state Wednesday evening at his home at 117 Dead Horse Road.
Luciano Aragon died Monday morning, March 5, 2001, at Morning Star Manor.
Louis Luciano Aragon was born Jan 7, 1917 to Jesus Edward and Ophelia (Armajo) Aragon in Casper. He attended Casper schools and was graduated from Noatrona County High School in 1936.
Luciano was called into military service Feb 2, 1941, serving as an anti-tank gunner with the 21st Infantry. He served in Papua, New Guinea, and in the southern Philippines until he was wounded on May 6, 1945. Along with an honorable discharge Aug 29, 1945, Luciano came home with a Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal and a Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Star.
After returning home, he met Mathilda Sun Rhodes and, on Nov 4, 1945, the couple was married.
His family says Luciano was a rancher by heart but worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the forestry division, and later for Western Nuclear in Jeffrey City, until his retirement in 1979. After retirement, he dedicated all of his time to ranching.
Luciano Aragon is survived by his sons, Robert and Ursula Aragon and Edward Aragon, all of Fort Washakie; grandchildren, Robert Aragon, Charlene Harris, Clarence aragon Sr., Eugenia Aragon, Edward Aragon Jr., and Benjamin Aragon; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mathilda; his parents; one brother; and a grandson, Joey Aragon.
Arrangements are by Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.

OLHEISER - Fran Olheiser
Services for Fran Olheiser of Riverton are Tuesday, March 15 at 10 a.m. from St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Riverton. The Rev. William Caspers officiates, and interment follows at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
A rosary is Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m. from St. Margaret's.
Fran Olheiser died Thursday morning, March 8, 2001 at the age of 63.
Francese Jane Smith was born August 2, 1937, in Casper, the daughter of Oris Allen Smith and Leila M. (Crowther) Smith. The family moved to Pavillion in 1948, where she lived until marrying in 1956 and moving to Riverton.
She attended school in Casper and Pavillion, where she was graduated from high school in 1956.
On Sept 15, 1956, she married Laurence Olheiser at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Riverton. Three children were born to this union.
A member of the Catholic faith, Fran started the church library with Father Espenshade. She had been a member of St. Margaret's Church since 1956.
Fran was very involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She served in all the offices of the VFW auxiliary, including local president. She then went on to become Department of Wyoming state president.
She worked as a binder in printing services at the Riverton Ranger for 25 years, until her retirement. Fran and her sister, Helen, followed their mother's footsteps at the Ranger, Leila having been employed at the Ranger for 17 1/2 years and Helen for 15.
Fran's hobbies included crocheting, baking bread, fishing, camping, hot air balloons, stamp collecting and card parties, and traveling through Arizona, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota and Utah with Laurence in their motor home.
In addition to her membership in VFW Auxiliary 3628, Fran was a member of the Riverton Balloon Club, Riverton Rendezvous Association, served on balloon crews and Christmas booth craft sales at the 4-H building.
Survivors include her husband, Laurence of the family home in Riverton; sons Anthony Olheiser of Phoenix and Allen Olheiser and his wife Christy of Tualatin, Ore; a daughter Deb Bonicelli and her husband Bob of Scottsdale, Ariz; grandchildren Joe, Angela and Kira Olheiser, Shaelyn Olheiser and Amanda and Nathan Bonicelli; a sister, Helen Dilts of Kanorado, Kan.; nephew Bob Dilts and his wife Wendy and great nieces Jessica and Jennifer Dilts, all of Riverton; cousins Shirley (Patton) Carlson and husband Floyd of Glendora, Calif, John Patten and his wife Erla of South Carolina, Charles Crowther and his wife Carol of Missoula, Mont; along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
Fran Olheiser was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and a brother-in-law, Delbert Dilts.
Memorials may be made to the Riverton Balloon Club in care of First Interstate Bnak of Riverton.
Arrangements are by the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.

MARLATT - Billie Marlatt
Billie B. Marlatt of Riverton died late Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Wind River Healthcare Center in Riverton. She was 75 years old.
Services are Tuesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. from the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. Burial follows at Mountain View Cemetery, with VFW auxiliary committal rites.
Viewing is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday from the funeral home.
Billie Milnes was born Nov 16, 1925, on the Milnes Ranch north of Fort Laramie, the daughter of Charles Milnes and Gertrude (Scott) Milnes.
She earned her teaching certificate from the University of Wyoming and taught first through eighth grades in a one-room log school on Laramie Peak.
On Sept 1, 1946, Billie Milnes married Donn Marlatt in Kimball, Neb. They recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversay.
The family moved to Pavillion in 1949, living there for three years, and then to the Riverton area in 1953.
Billie Marlatt was an avid bowler who enjoyed horseback riding, working with horses, camping and fishing.
She was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and belonged to bowling leagues.
Survivors include her husband, Donn of the family home in Riverton; a son, Lynn Marlatt of Riverton; daughters Sandi Stover of Riverton and Debbie Larson of Fort Collins, Colo; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; sisters Izetta Barr of Jay Em, Wyo., and Lavonne Kimball of Stayton, Ore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, eight sisters and her parents.

COLVIN - Connie J. Colvin
Connie J. Colvin, a graduate of Riverton High School, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at the Wyoming Medical Center. She was 51 years old.
Services are Monday, March 12 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Casper, with the Rev. Ellis Kaster officiating. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery.
Viewing is Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Connie was born Feb 8, 1950, in Fort Scott, Kan, to John L. and Leora M. (Tanner) Colvin. She graduated in 1968 from RHS, where she was active in sports.
After completing her education at the Mercy School of Radiologic Technology in Fort Scott, she moved to Casper, where she was employed as a registered x-ray technologist.
She enjoyed dogs, baseball, drawing caricatures, creating greeting cards and other articistic endeavors.
Survivrs include her father, former Riverton Ranger employee John Colvin; sister Shandra Porter and brother-in-law William Porter; a niece, Lori; three nephews, John, Robert and Timothy; two great nephews; and longtime friend Becky Childers. All are of Casper. Also surviving is aunt Eileen Jackson of Fort Scott.
She was preceded in death by her mother.

LYTLE - Helen Lytle
Helen Lytle, age 98, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Wind River Healthcare Center in Riverton.
Services are Monday, March 12 at 10 a.m. from the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. The Rev. Tim Sersen of Faith Lutheran Church in Lander officiates. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Helen Eldora Hauglid was the 11th of 15 children born to Andrew and Emma Hauglid. She was born Dec 4, 1902, on a farm in Springwater Township, Rock County, Minn.
Helen married Arthur 'Pat' Lytle on Nov 18, 1925, in Pipestone, Minn.
Pat and Helen moved to Wisconsin and then lived in Tubersoe, Saskatchewan, Canada, from 1928 to 1939. They moved back to Wisconsin in 1939 and remained there until 1951. They then moved to Phoenix and from there to the Los Angeles area.
Helen and Pat had eight children, 36 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.
Helen's husband died in 1961. In August 1968, Helen moved to Riverton to live with her sister, Marge Cragoe. They lived together for 28 years. Helen spent the past six and a half years at Wind River Healthcare.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Her family says Helen loved being with her family, music, dancing and playing cards.
"She always had a special smile for everyone," the family says. "Aunt Helen was a special lady in the the lives of Bob and Bernice Cragoe and family. They feel they were truly blessed to have her as their special auntie."
Helen is survived by seven children, Mike and Ruth Lytle, and Ike Lytle of Georgia, Joe Lytle and Marion and Ben McCoy of California, Gordon and Gloria Lytle and Bob and Arlene Lytle of Wisconsin, Harry and Judi Lytle of South Carolina; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister, Ella Campbell and husband Jim of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Pat; seven sisters; six brothers; one son, Jerry; daughter-in-law Nancy Lytle; grandsons Arthur Lytle, Jerry Lee Lytle, Frankie Lytle, Jason Lytle and Ricky Lytle; and great grandsons Jason Bautz and William Lytle.

DETIMORE - Mildred L. Detimore
Mildred L. 'Millie" Detimore died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at her home in Dubois. She was 80 years old.
Services are at 3 p.m. Monday, March 12, from St. Thomas Episcopal church in Dubois. Peter Ensor officiates, and burial follows at the Dubois Cemetery.
Mildred Louise Aden was born June 19, 1920, in Rising City, Neb., the daughter of Eilert Aden and Cecile (Todd) Aden. Millie grew up around Shelby, Nev. (Neb?)
After she married Joe A. Detimore on August 11, 1937, in Bellevue, Kans, they farmed in the Shelby area for 10 years before moving to Riverton to farm for nine years.
In 1957, they moved to Dubois, after purchasing the Highland Meadow Ranch. They operated the ranch as a guest ranch until 1981, when they retired and purchased a home in Dubois.
Mrs. Detimore was a housewife and business partner, member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sourdoughs, and Wyoming Outfitters. Her family says she enjoyed her family, craft projects and fishing.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph A. Detimore of Dubois; sons Donald E. Detimore of Lander and John R. Detimore of Riverton; daughters Gale L. Trueblood of Fresno, Calif., Sondra A. Thompson of Kinnear, and Linda L. Davis of Cody; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Aden.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and a brother, Don.
The Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main, Riverton, WY 82501, has charge of arrangements.
