HAILEY - Cory Hailey
A funeral for Lander native Cory Hailey is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 4 at the Davis Funeral Home in Riverton.
Cory Hailey, 27, died Sept 27, 2000 at his home in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a seminary student at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
Fort Worth police officials said Hailey died of natural causes, but said the exact cause of death has not been determined.
A memorial service was held on Sept 30 in Fort Worth.
Cory Hailey is the son of Ted and Nancy Hailey of Casper.
He is survived by his parents; a brother, Jeremy Hailey of Red Lodge, Mont.; and a sister, Teecee Greenhalgh of Silverdale, Wash.
Cory Hailey had worked as a newswriter in the public relations office at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary since 1998.
Prior to attending the seminary, he worked at the The Battle Mountain Bugle in Battle Mountain, Nev., where he won several awards for writing and photography. He was also working on a science fiction novel and often wrote peotry.
Cory Hailey earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Nevada at Reno and attended law school at Baylor University for one year.
In lieu of flowers, the Haileys ask that donations be made to the scholarship fund at Southwestern Seminary, in Cory Hailey's name.

LYNCH - Maurice J. Lynch
Maurice J. Lynch, a former Fremont County miner, died Saturday, Sept 23, 2000, near Broken Arrow, Okla. He was 75 years old.
Graveside services were Wednesday afternoon, Sept 27, at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow.
Maurice John Lynch was born on Nov 27, 1924 at Bowman, ND. He grew up on a farm in Adams County, ND.
He worked on a large cattle ranch for a year and a half before joining military service in 1943. He served a U.S. Coast Guard ship in the south Pacific during World War II. He took part in the invasion of Okinawa. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. military in 1946.
Maurice Lynch worked in highway construction and driving over-the-road 18-wheelers until 1950, when he leased a 3,000-acre farm and ranch which he operated for 20 years. He sold out in 1950 and moved to Wyoming, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator in uranium strip mining until 1983. He then moved to Oklahoma and continued to work in expressway road construction until retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the family home; son Mike of Broken Arrow, Okla; daughter Sharon of Tulsa, Okla; daughter Jean of Springdale, Ark; daughters Barbara and Cindy and son Mark, all of Denver; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers, Kathleen of Sioux Falls, SD, Pat and Margaret of Riverton, Denis Lynch of Keldron, SD and Terry Lynch of Idabel, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marcella Lynch; brother Jim Lynch; sister Shirley Lynch; and brother George Lynch.
He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, American legion Post 308, and Knights of Columbus Council 6606 of Broken Arrow.

MOSS - Eileen antelope Moss
Funeral services for Eileen Antelope Moss of Arapahoe are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct 3, from St. Stephen's Catholic Church. The Rev. Father Dave Matzko officiates and burial follows at the St. Stephen's Catholic Cemetery.
A rosary is Monday, at 7:30 p.m. from St. Stephen's with a wake to follow at her home, 1115 17 Mile Road
A rosary was held Sunday evening from the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
Mrs. Moss died Friday, Sept 29, 2000, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. She was 69 years old.
She was born to Orlando and Mary (Goggles) Antelope on May 3, 1931, at Arapahoe. She was a life-long resident of the Wind River Reservation.
She married Herman J. Moss Sr., on March 7, 1952 in Thermopolis and was a homemaker.
The couple ranched and farmed at Arapahoe, and Mrs. Moss was considered "everybody's Grandma." The family says she enjoyed her family, cooking, beading, and slicing wild game.
Mrs. Moss was a member of the Catholic faith and the Native American Church. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary to the Arthur Antelope Brown Post 84.
Survivors include sons Kendal Moss Sr. of Ethete, Leonard Moss Sr. of Arapahoe, Medrick Moss Sr of Arapahoe, Donald Moss of Douglas, Wayne Brown of Arapahoe, Sterling Howell Sr. of Riverton, Charles Howell of Arapahoe, Chester Moss of Arapahoe and Brian Moss of Arapahoe; daughters Victoria Friday of Arapahoe, Maxine Moss of Arapahoe, Tekewitha Sun Rhodes of Arapahoe, Eileen C'Bearing of Arapahoe, Lavina Dewey of Riverton, Delores Moss of Arapahoe; Julia Brown of Fort Washakie, Ursula Aragon of Fort Washakie, Susanna Oldman of Ethete, Rosella Moss of Ethete and Iva Moss of Arapahoe; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Dickie Antelope of Ethete and adopted brothers Doug Smith of Medford, Ore., and Jesse Costella of South Dakota; a sister, Agnes Ortiz of Riverton; uncles Danny Goggles of Arizona and Joe Goggles of St. Stephens; aunts Teresa Palmer of Washington and Martina Bell of Arapahoe.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sons Weldon D. Moss, Herman J. Moss Jr. Chester Moss and two sets of twins; granddaughters Katherine Sun Rhodes and Beatrice Sun Rhodes; grandsons Joey Aragon, Weldon Herman Moss, Patrick Herman Moss and Dean Moss; eight brothers, John Oldman, Max Oldman, Richard Antelope; David Oldman, Orlando Antelope Jr., Lawrence Antelope, George Antelope, and Joseph Antelope; and three sisters, Edna Moss, Theresa Antelope and Julianna Oldman.

SCHAPER - Harry G. Schaper
Former Riverton resident Henry G. Schaper, 59, of Cheyenne died Saturday Sept 30, 2000 in Cheyenne.
Services are Tuesday, Oct 3, at 10 a.m. from the Grace Church of the Nazarene in Cheyenne, with Pastor Dale Blake officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Henry G. Schaper was born Jan 21, 1941, in Riverton. He had lived in Cheyenne for eight years, living prior to that in Gillette and Riverton.
Mr. Schaper was a dairy farmer for 40 years and owned a lawn and garden business. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran church of the Nazarene and the Future Farmers of America.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Schaper of Cheyenne, whom he married April 30, 1982; his mother, Ila Schaper of Riverton; four sisters, Sheila Schaper, Hedy Arnold and Nancy Schaper, all of Riverton, and Sandy Umshied of Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry A. Schaper and a sister, Sharon James.
Memorials may be made to the Youth Group at Grace Church of the Nazarene or the American Cancer Society.
Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes of Cheyenne.

JENKINS - Anthony C. Jenkins
Services for anthony c. "Eagah" Jenkins of Arapahoe are Friday, Oct 6 at 10 a.m. from St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Interment follows at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.
Rosaries are at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday from St. Stephen's and 7:30 p.m. Thursday from the family home at 753 Left Hand Circle.
Mr. Jenkins died Saturday evening, Sept 30, 2000, in a traffic accident on the Wind River Indian Reservation. He was 38 years old.
Born June 8, 1962, Mr. Jenkins was the son of Lydia Jenkins.
He attended a year of college at Central Wyoming College and a year at Weber State in Ogden, Utah. He worked as a laborer.
His family says he enjoyed taking care of his nieces and nephews and beading.
Survivors include cousins Judith Blackburn, Belinda Warren, Kathleen Warren, Pauline Polen, Hubert Warren Jr., Paul Warren, John Jenkins, Katherine Jenkins, Mike Jenkins and Janice Jenkins; his mother; brother John J. Jenkins Sr. of Casper; three sisters, Lucia Jenkins, Michele Jenkins and Claudia Jenkins of Arapahoe; grandfather Joseph Goggles; and Sundance grandfather Burton Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thurlo and Amanda Jenkins and Emma Goggles; a sister, Mary Jenkins, brother Julian Jenkins; and an aunt, Inez Warren.

BENNAGE - Alberta Bennage
Services for former Riverton resident and longtime resident of Gillette Alberta Bennage, 85, of Marionville, Mo., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 4 at the First Baptist Church in Gillette. Interment will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette.
Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 3 at Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette.
Mrs. Bennage died Thursday, Sept 28, 2000, at St. John's Regional Hospital in Springfield, Mo., of natural cuases.
Alberta Kee was born Dec 6, 1914, in Sherman County, Neb., the daughter of Milton J. and Signa (Anderson) Kee. At an early age, she came to Wyoming, where her parents homesteaded in 1915 in the Thunder Basin area. She attended school at Sager and Hilight Schools.
Later, after her family moved to Gillette, she was graduated from elementary school in 1927 and Campbell County high School in Gillette in 1931. She then took a fifth year of normal training and taught one year in a rural school. Following that, she did secretarial work until her marriage.
She married Howard Bennage in 1936 in Deadwood, S.D. They had three daughters and a son. Her family says her life was devoted to her husband, her family and her Christian faith. They say she loved to travel, and the family made many trips through the United States.
She was a lifelong member of the Baptish Church, 54-year member of the Gentian Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and lifetime member of the Rebekay Lodge, holding various offices in each.
After moving to Fremont County, she was a member of an extension club.
The family says she enjoyed making scrapbooks, doing crossword puzzles and reading. She was interested in genealogy and kept up on family history.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Howard Bennage, Gillette; three daughters, Elizabeth Cottrell, Virginia Geer and her husband, Larry, all of Gillette, Kathleen Pederson, Big Timber, Mont; a son, Jim Bennage and his wife Jerry Ann of Sheridan; 10 grandchildren, nine great grand children, two nieces and two nephews.
Alberta Bennage was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, LaVonne Joslyn and Vera Snodgrass.

CONLEY - James Joseph Conley
Former Fremont County resident James Joseph "J.J." Conley of Scottsdale, Ariz, died Saturday, Sept 28, 2000.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Oct 5 at 10 a.m. from the Messinger Mortuary and Chapel, 7602 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, Ariz.
James Joseph Conley was born on Sept 23, 1922, in Calhoun, Okla. He served with the U.S. Air Force from November 1941 to February 1946. He married Aleise Conley in 1947.
Mr. Conley worked for Wyoming Hardware Co. in Riverton for many years and owned the Western Auto Store in Lander from 1959 to 1968. He worked as a salesman for Industrial Distributors in Casper until his retirement in 1987.
Mr. Conley is survived by his wife, Aleise; daughter Karen Johnson and her husband Paul of Rogue River, Ore.; brother Francis L. Conley of Highlands, Texas; sisters Alice Marvel of Nederland, Texas, "Sissy" Neibaum and Ann Rachel, both of Houston; grandchildren Stuart, Brenna, Mike and Mara Johnson; and a dear friend, Wayne Mims of Phoenix, Arix.
He was preceded in death by his son, James R. Conley.

LEIGHTON - Vera Leighton
Graveside services for Vera Leighton, 80, of Casper are Monday, Oct 9 at 1 p.m. at the Dubois Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Peter Ensor from the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Dubois.
Mrs. Leighton died Sunday, Oct 1, 2000 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
She was born Sunday, Jan 4, 1920, in Jackson, the daughter of Orl T. and Bitha (Berry) Peacock. She grew up on a ranch near Jackson and Dubois. In May 1942, she moved to Casper and drove a truck at the military air base. She drove a taxi for 6 1/2 years in Casper and drove a truck for Casper Linen Supply.
She married Jim Leighton on Thursday, Dec 1, 1949 in Casper. Jim died on July 10, 1998. They traveled 43 states, most of Canada and some in Mexico.
She is survived by her brother, Earl Peacock and his wife of Riverton; two nieces, Dee Kiever of Daniel and Bobbie Huffman of Sun City, West, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorials may be made to the Central Wyoming Hospice Program, 319 S. Wilson, Casper, 82604, or Casper Humane Society, 260 Crescent.

PENDLEY - Darrell W. Pendley
Darrell Wayne Pendley, 59, died Sunday, Oct 1, 2000 at his home in Laramie. Dr. Pendley was a brother of Linda Anderson of Riverton.
Memorial services are Thursday, Oct 5 at 5 p.m. from St. Matthew's Episcopal Cathedral in Laramie.
Darrell Wayne Pendley was born Thursday, May 8, 1941, in Powell, the son of Leo and Nola (Carpenter) Pendley. He attended school in Powell and was graduated from Powell High School. While there, he excelled in sports, especially swimming, football and track. He held the state track record for the mile for many years. He later attended the University of Wyoming, where he earned his bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees.
Dr. Pendley was an elementary and secondary teacher in Laramie for many years, as well as being a swimming/diving coach and school psychologist. He was a member of the Laramie educational community for more than 35 years.
During that time, he developed a private practice as well, specializing in children and families. He served people in Laramie, Saratoge, Hanna, Encampment, Rawlins and Fort Collins.
His family says his life's work was devoted to serving the communities he loved.
In addition to his family, his interests included reading, running, photography, animals and spending time at his family's cabin in Virginia Dale, Colo.
Dr. Pendley is survived by his wife, Lynne, of Laramie; sons Kevin and his wife Tamra Fenstermaker of Rio Rancho, NM, and Darren and his wife Tanya of Albuquerque, NM; his brother, Gary Pendley and his wife Connie of Cheyenne; his sister, Linda Anderson of Riverton; his grandchildren, Amber and Tyler of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Pendley.

SINKULE - David N. Sinkule
A memorial service for David N. Sinkule, age 76, of Riverton is Saturday, Oct 7 at 3 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Grayson Gowen officiates.
Mr. Sinkule died Oct 3, 2000, while hunting antelope. He served as a Marine during World War II and was employed by Gilpatrick Construction Co. for 11 years. He also worked at Dignity. After retirement, he worked summers for the city of Riverton in pest control.
An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Sinkule was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and North American Hunters and was an active participant in Senior Olympics.
He is survived by his wife, BerDeane (Sunshine) Sinkule, along with Jerry James Mavis and Tanya Kaye Contrades of Riverton; Terry Leon Mavis of San Leandro, Calif.,; Sandra Lyne McCausland of Camas, Wash.; Paula Somerville of Easton, Md.; Vicky King and Cookie Lineicame of Atlanta; and Edward Sinkule of Fairmont, W.Va.

WAHTOMY - Cali Rose Wahtomy
Cali Rose Wahtomy, infant daughter of Dwayne and Nancy Wahtomy, died Monday, Oct 2, 2000, at the Denver Children's Hospital in Colorado. She was two weeks old.
Services are Friday, Oct 6 at 10 a.m. from the family home, 433 Left Hand Spur, Arapahoe. Interment will be in the Miller Cemetery.
Rosary was from the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton Wednesday night and will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday from the family home, with wake to follow.
Cali Rose Wahtomy was born in Riverton on Sept 18, 2000, the daughter of Dwayne Waytomy Jr. and Nancy M. (Miller) Waytomy.
The family says "She was a very special little girl and will be missed."
Survivors include her parents, Dwayne and Nancy Waytomy; grandparents Sandra Wahtomy, Charley Brown, Ben and Anna Miller and Stanley and Bernice Thompson; sisters Janae Miller; Tori Miller, Jordan Wahtomy, Kylee Waytomy and Miranda Matsaw; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dwayne Waytomy Sr., and her great grandparents.

HEUERMAN - Harold H. Heuerman
Harold H. Heuerman died Friday, Oct 6, 2000, at Westward Heights Nursing Home in Lander. He was 84 years old.
Masonic burial services will be conducted by the Shoshone Lodge A.F.&A.M. of Cody at 11 a.m. Saturday Oct 14, at Riverside Cemetery in Cody.
Viewing is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct 13, and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday from the Ballard Funeral Home, 636 19th Street in Cody.
Harold Henry Heuerman was born Monday, May 22, 1916, in Dorsey, Holt County, Neb., the son of Henry Casper Heuermann and Lettie Louise (Mansfield) Heuermann. Following graduation from high school in Torrington, he worked as a farmer, cowboy, truck driver, and salesman.
Mr. Heuerman was a Scoutmaster, a 32nd Degree Mason, active in Shoshone Lodge A.F.&A.M. and was a member of the Jackass Patrol of Korein Shrine. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge.
His family says he enjoyed fishing and crafted custom fishing rods in addition to making "Lucky Lures" brand of fishing tackle.
Following his retirement from Amoco as Standard Oil bulk agent in Cody, Mr. Heuerman lived in Overton, Nev for 24 years before returning to Wyoming in 1998.
Survivors include his sons, Robert E. Heuerman of Riverton, Donald E. Heuerman of Barre, VT, and Henry James Heuerman of Cody; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Beatrice Martilla of Lodi, Calif.; Ethel Halsted of Denver, Colo; Artis Bender of Fresno, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Arthur Heuermann; grandson Brett Eugene Heuermann; sisters Alfrieda Davy and Margaret Heuermann; and a brother, Rhea Heuermann.
Memorials may be made to the Intermountain Unit Shrine Hospital for children, Fairfax Ave and Virginia St., Salt Lake City, UT 84103.

ROBERTS - Marilyn 'Nona' Roberts
Services for Marilyn Leona 'Nona" Roberts, age 52, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 11, from St. David's Church at Fort Washakie. Burial follows at the Sacajawea Cemetery.
Visitation and wake are from the family home, 342 Sage Creek Road, beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.
Mrs. Roberts died at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City on Friday, Oct 6, 2000.
Marilyn Leona Shoyo was born Dec 12, 1947, at Fort Washakie, the daughter of Harrison and Ann Marie (Pingree) Shoyo Sr. Nona was graduated from Fort Washakie Elementary School and attended Flandreau Indian School, graduating in 1968. She taught for a time at the Fort Washakie preschool.
She married Leonard Roberts Sr. on Aug 23, 1968 at Roberts Mission.
Nona was an active and supporting member of her community. She was Johnson-O'Malley Parent of the Year for 1994-95 and 1995-96, was a past queen of the Shoshone Indian Days and board member of the Eastern Shoshone Boys and Girls Club. She was a member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.
Nona was a member of the Episcopal Church, serving on the Bishop's Committee as junior warden, and a member of the Native American Church.
Her family says Nona Roberts enjoyed beading, visiting, her family, home and grandchildren, and traveling to various places for basketball tournaments and pow-wows.
She was employed as a cook by Fort Washakie Head Start program, Fort Washakie School as a teacher's aide, and by Morning Star Manor and the Shoshone Entertainment Committee as cook.
Nona Roberts is survived by her husband, Leonard Roberts Sr.; children Leonard "L.B." Roberts Jr., LaDeana and Shane StandingRock Roberts, JayDee Roberts and BenniLee Roberts; her parents, Harrison and Anna Marie Shoyo Sr.; sisters Anita and Delphine Clair, Lavonne and John Roanhorse, Bernie Shoy, Cathy and Brian StandingRock; brothers Harrison "Bunny" and Angie Shoyo, Arlen and Francine Shoyo Sr. and Randy Shoyo Sr.; numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Alice (Leonard) and James Pingree and Perry and Mary (Kroppe) Shoyo, and a brother, Dean "Dingus" Shoyo.

MILLER - Wilbur H. Miller
Former Lander resident Wilbur H. "Will" Miller of Longmont, Colo, died Saturday, Oct 7, 2000, at Berthoud Living Center in Berthoud, Colo, following a lengthy illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 11. The Rev. Brian Morrow is celebrant.
Visitation is Tuesday until a vigil service at 7 p.m.
Wilbur Howard Miller was born Dec 16, 1931, in Philadelphia, the son of John H. and Anna Mary (Gliniski) Miller. He was a 1949 graduate of Roxborough High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
On Nov 29, 1932, he married Geraldine "Geri" Brady in Philadelphia.
Will served as a firefighter while living in Philadelphia. After moving to Lander in 1965, he went to work as a foreman with U.S. Steel at the Atlantic City iron ore mine. Mr. Miller served two terms on the Lander City Council. In 1991, he and Geri left Lander and moved to Longmont.
Will Miller was active in the Moose Lodge 1548, serving as "Spike", the clown for numerous events hosted by the lodge. Will had a lifelong interest in pigeons and nurtured that interest by raising and racing them. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed and was active in many sports.
Will was preceded in death by his father and his son, John K. Miller.

A funeral for longtime Crowheart and Dubois resident Susannah E. Moore is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct 14 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Dubois.

Susannah Moore died at the home of her daughter in Victor, Idaho, Monday, Oct 9, 2000, following a long illness. She was 83.
Susanna Ethel Stubblefield was born to Ralph and Francis (Buzzard) Stubblefirld on October 13, 1916, in Flora, Ore. She married Jesse Milton Moore on Sept 25, 1954, in Miles City, Mont.
They were longtime ranchers in the Burris/Crowheart area until Jesse's death on Jan 10, 1988.
An avid rockhound, Susannah spent many hours along the Wind River behind their ranch, looking for petrified wood.
Susannah Moore had been living in Victor with her daughter and family for the past several years.

Robert Ronald Bell was born May 11, 1948, the son of Robert A. Bell and Margaret Ruis. He grew up on the Wind River Indian Reservation before moving to Indiana and later moving to Anardako. He attended schools in Rawlins and Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota.
Ronnie Bell was a construction worker. His family says he enjoyed fishing, mechanics and being around his family.
He is survived by sons Robbie and James Bell of Ethete; sisters Yvonne Tropser of Fort Washakie and Judith Bell of Anardako; brothers Kenneth and Willie Trosper of Ethete, Cedric Shakespeare of Ethete and George Bell of Ohio; aunts Caroline Produit and Yvonne Amos of Riverton, Nancy Dice, Annie Brown and Patricia Lieuallen of Arapahoe and Virginia Sutter of Auburn, Wash; uncles Vincent and Theodore Bell of Arapahoe; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Benjamin E. Shotgunn died at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho on Monday, Oct 9, 2000. He was 51 years old.
Services are Saturday, Oct 14 at 10 a.m. at the Crawford White residence on Dead Horse Road out of Fort Washakie, with the Native American Church officiating. Interment will be at the Yellow Calf Cemetery at Ethete.
Visitation is Thursday, Oct 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Wind Dancer Funeral Home at Fort Washakie, 44 North Fork Road. A prayer service will be held Friday, Oct 13 at 7 p.m. at the Crawford White residence, with a wake to follow.
Benjamin Erline Shotgunn was born Sept 13, 1949, in Canton, Okla, the son of Francis Shotgunn and Hope Harrington.
He grew up in Canton and lived from time to time in Wyoming on the Wind River Indian Reservation, making his home with the late Josephine White and Wilburn Brown.
He attended school in Canton and received his GED from Central Wyoming College. He later enrolled at the United Tribes College in Bismark, ND, where he received his degree in automotive mechanics.
His family described him as easy going, and he enjoyed visiting with his friends.
Benjamin Shotgunn was a member of the Native American Church.
He is survived by his father, Francis Shotgunn of Ethete; sisters Kendall L. Shotgunn of Nashville, Tenn., and Ilene Harrington of Oklahoma, brother Robert F. Shotgunn Jr. of Lame Deer, Mont.; two sons and one daughter in Canton; aunts Mary Shotgunn Yazzie of Rigby, Idaho, and Marjorie Shotgunn Pizzario of Ethete; an uncle, Wilbur Brown of Ethete; and numerous nices, nephews, cousins and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brothers Antone H. and Owen Shotgunn; sisters Frances A. Shotgunn, Aurilda Goodman and Renee Goodman; uncles Lawrence Shotgunn and Wayne Harrington; paternal grandparents Robert and Genieve (Shavehead) Shotgunn; and maternal grandparents Aloysius Lodge and Miami Goes in Lodge Cedar Tree.

Her body lay in state from the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home, in Lander on Sunday and lies in state until 4 p.m. Monday at Blue Sky Hall. A rosary follows Monday at 4 p.m. Following the rosary, her body will be taken to the family home at 14 Farm Station St. until service time on Tuesday.
She died Thursday, Oct 12, 2000, at the age of 43.
Kathleen Jane Brown was born to Wilbur and Ursula (Goggles) Brown in Riverton on Jan 25, 1957. She attended elementary schools in Rigby, Idaho, Hamilton Dome and the St. Stephen's Mission School south of Riverton. She was a 1975 graduate of Wyoming indian high School at Ethete.
Kathy was married to Gary Lee Killsontop in June 1978. Mr. Killsontop died in August 1995.
She was a nursing assistant at the Morning Star Manor nursing home at Fort Washakie for a time and taught high school-age youth for the completion of their GED requirements.
In addition to her parents, Kathy is survived by a daughter, Theodosia Lea Killsontop of Ethete, and one brother, Daniel Brown of Tahlequah, Oka.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Charles A. Brown and Wilbur T. Brown Jr.; and a sister, Wanda Brown.
Services are under the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.

Agnes Brown died at her home in Riverton on Wednesday, Oct 11, 2000, following a lengthy illness. She was 59 years old.

Agnes was born July 12, 1941, the daughter of Victoria SunRhodes and Peter J. Monroe.
She worked for 12 years as a school secretary at St. Stephen's Indian School and was instrumental in the formation of the St. Stephen's Indian Education Association.
After leaving St. Stephen's, she continued working as a secretary with the Even Start Program at the Arapahoe School. Her last place of employment was at the Arapahoe Senior Citizens Center. She worked on the 1980 census and other surveys on the Wind River Indian Reservation.
Her family says Agnes L. Brown was a very community-minded person who served on many types of boards and committees, including the wind River Housing Board, North American Indian Heritage Center, Johnson-O'Malley Parent Committees for several school districts, and as an election judge for both the Northern Arapahoe tribe and Fremont County. The family says she enjoyed playing bingo and going to rodeos and roping events with her husband and sons.
Survivors include her husband, Dan L. Brown of Riverton; sons Lloyd Daniel Brown and Don L. Brown and Charlene of Riverton; adopted sons Ricky Blackburn and Salome and Robert Jessepe and Sam of Arapahoe, Byron Bruised Head and Michelle of Lethbridge, Canada; daughters Laureen Brown Case and Dave and Lavenia Dee Brown Potter and C.J. of Riverton; mother Victoria SunRhodes of Riverton; sisters Matilda Bushyhead and Julianna Monroe Miller of Arapahoe and Margie Small of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers Eugene Monroe and Harold O'Brien of Riverton, and Ervin O'Brien of Enid, Okla; extended family Gerry, Nena, Evelyn, Jody and Marilyn Brown and Vicki Lopez of Riverton, Jerilyn Touroklias of Denver and Howard, Gary, and Moose Brown of Riverton; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Edith Meigs Seals died Sunday, Oct 15, 2000, at the Community Care of Worland, where she had been a resident for the past eight years. She was 91 years old.
Services are Wednesday, Oct 18 at 11 a.m. from the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Edith was born Feb 18, 1909 in Siloan Springs, Ark. She came to Wyoming by covered wagon in 1913 with her parents, James and Lorrie Meigs. They lived in Converse County, near Glendo, where she graduated from the eighth grade on June 1, 1926. The moved to Powder River, where she attended school and graduated from high school in Casper.
Edith then went to the University of Wyoming in 1930 to study to be an elementary teacher. She taught school in 1931-32 at a rural school in Natrona County. They then moved to Riverton, and she was a substitute teacher at Arapahoe.
She was working as a nutrionist for the Fremont County Sheriff's Department when she met and married Benjamin W. Seals on Sept 27, 1934. They lived in Riverton for many years, where they raised their two children. Edith was a resident of the Green River and Rock springs area during the 1980's.
Her family says Edith Seals loved to fish, hunt and sew things for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, in 1968; her parents, James and Lottie Meigs; three sisters, Ruth Plummer, Veva Broemer and Violet Mowrey and three brothers, Harold Meigs, Clifford Meigs and Wade meigs.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Doug Sothan of Worland; one son and daughter-in-law, Gayle and Beth Seals of Rock Springs; six grandchildren, Judy Ahrens of Riverton, Mary Ann Allison of North Carolina, Vicki Page of California, Darryl Seals of Jackson, Ohio, Darryn Seals of Pousblo, Wash., and Deanna Seals of Rock Springs; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Colva of Riverton and Lottie Townsend of Rock Springs; one brother-in-law, Clayton Mowrey of Denver; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mildred B. Laemmel died Sunday, Oct 15, 2000, at Wind River Healthcare Center in Riverton. She was 87 years old.

Mildred was born Dec 10, 1912 in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Berthold and Martha (Schwartz) Baenziger.
She married Charles Laemmel in Toledo, Ohio, on May 31, 1930. They lived in Spring Hill, Fla, from 1984 until 1993 and had lived in Riverton for the past seven years.,
Mrs. Laemmel was a draftsman in engineering. Her family says she enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and loved nature, reading non-fiction and poetry, and being a secretary and studying English.
Survivors include her husband, Charles of Riverton; sons C. Richard Laemmel and his wife Alice and Robert Laemmel and his wife Barbara, all of Greenville, SC; a daughter, Margie Williams and her husband Bob of Riverton; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

Laura Lee Sanderson, age 55, died at her home on Paint Brush Loop on Monday, Oct 16, 2000, following a battle with cancer.
She was born April 22, 1945 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Edward and Iva (McAdams) Sanderson. She attended Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah and Utah Trade Technology School. She received her nursing degree in 1975 and worked in Sacramento, Calif., as a public health nurse. She was also a private duty nurse for 12 years. In October 1990, she moved to the Fort Washakie area to be with family.
She is survived by sons John and Cynthia (Miller) Hutchings of Lander, Rex and Juanita Coando, Fort Washakie, and Steve and Barbara Keyes of Utah; a daughter, Anda and Shane Bostock of Wendover, Nev; brothers John and Marilyn Sanderson of Elko, Nev; Herman and Elberta Coando of Cupertino, Calif, Guy and Sheri Hendricks of Salt Lake City, Patrick Hendricks of Utah, Dave and Brenda Hendricks and Stephen Hendricks of Fort Washakie; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Iva Hendricks; daughter Shonna Mayes in 1987 and grandson Shane Mayes in 1983.

Michael Bruce Sandstrom was born on June 14, 1942, in Fargo, ND. After graduating from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in North Dakota in 1960, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.
He married the former Carol Ann Covey in Bozeman, Mont on Feb 12, 1966.
Mike Sandstrom worked in the auto parts industry and was co-owner of Napa Auto Parts.
He had lived in Riverton from 1973-1986, in Bozeman from 1986-1993 and in Riverton since. His family says he enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of the BPO Elks Lodge. The family says he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Sandstrom of Riverton; daughter Teri Jones of Riverton; granddaughter Tayln Jones; sisters Ann Evans of Geyser, Mont., and Carol Mollner of Pocatello, Idaho; 11 nieces and nephews; and four great nieces. Mike also had many friends who cared for him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, McLean R. Sandstrom and Esther K. (Anderson) Sandstrom in 2000; and brothers Donald Sandstrom in 1987 and Jerome Sandstrom in 1997.

Arthur Jay Oldman was born Nov 3, 1962, in Thermopolis, the son of Thomas Oldman Sr. and Matilda Spoonhunter. He grew up in the Arapahoe area of the Wind River Indian Reservation. Artie attended grade school in Riverton, Sheridan High School, Busby High School in Montana, and Riverside Indian High School in Oklahoma.
He was a roofer by trade. His family says Artie Oldman enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his spouse, Cynthis Shapespeare of Arapahoe; father Thomas J. Oldman Sr. of Arapahoe; sons Duane G. Shakespeare of Arapahoe and Thomas Michael of Oklahoma; sisters Rowena Ridgley, Ophie Warren and Junie Oldman of Arapahoe; brothers Lyle Oldman of Crowheart and Leonard Gosney of Cheyenne; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. McIntosh died at the Hat Ranch in Fremont County on Sunday, Oct 15, 2000 at the age of 79.
She was born on Sept 20, 1921, in Rawlins, the daughter of Edward Dorsey and Rugh (Sharp) Beebe. She was educated in Rawlins and attended the University of Wyoming for three years.
Virginia married William M. McIntosh on June 29, 1942 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Rawlins. After their marriage, they lived on the Sweetwater River for six years. They then moved to the Sharp Ranches, where her husband, William M. McIntosh, was general manager.
Her family says her chief pleasure in life was riding and working with cattle. She carried on an active role in the ranches, working outside, keeping books, cooking, and keeping the living quarters up on several ranches.
Virginia McIntosh was active in the Carbon County CowBelles, promoting beef products. She served as president in 1968 and was a member of many committees. She served as state CowBelles President in 1975 and also served as a member of the American National CowBelles for several years. She served as a member of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, the Sweetwater Homemakers Extension Association, and was a member of the International Texas Longhorn Association. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Rawlins.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Feuchuk of Napa, Calif, and two grandchildren, Audrey and Edward Feuchuk, also of California.

Mr. Shippen died at his home in Riverton Wednesday afternoon, Oct 18, 2000. He was 77 years old.
Ernest Edward Shippen was born Feb 14, 1923, in Dubois, the son of Ernest Ezra Shippen and Carolyn (Golden) Shippen. He grew up on the Burnt Ranch on South Pass and Hudson. He also lived in Casper and Riverton. He had lived in Riverton for more than 40 years.
He attended high school for two years at Missoula, Mont., and was a 1941 graduate of Fremont County Vocational High School.
During World War II, he served four years with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He flew planes after the war.
He married the former Betty McLean at the Riverton Church of Christ on June 6, 1987.
Mr. Shippen worked as a mechanic in the Lucky Mc Mine for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
He kept church sidewalks clean and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Shippen was a member of Mensa in recognition of his high IQ. He attended the Church of Christ and kept that church's sidewalks clear.
His family says he enjoyed metal lathing, by which he made cannons. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, motorcycling and traveling. He belonged to the Wind River Road Riders motorcycle club.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Riverton; sons Joe Shippen of Lander, Adrian Shippen of Washington, Rosco Shippen of Casper and Bill Shippen of Ohio; stepsons Larry McLean of Lander, Jerry McLean of Michigan and Jim McLean of Riverton; daughters Kathleen Wilson of Florida, Nancy Shippen of Riverton, Maria Wilder of New Mexico and Carolyn Nelson of Casper; a foster daughter, Jean Spencer; step-brother Jim Silber of Denver; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Kimberly Kay Wilkinson was born in Riverton on Aug 22, 1968, the daughter of Daniel Paul Wilkinson and Donna Kay (Eggers) Wilkinson.
She worked as a massage therapist and had graduated from the Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle, Wash.
Kim had lived in Montana, Wyoming, California and Washington state, and her family says she "always saw the best in people." She had been a volunteer for a safe house in Laramie.
An artist, she enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping, skiing and snowboarding.
Survivos include her parents, Dan and Donna Wilkinson of Riverton; grandmother Louise Eggers of Riverton; brother Thomas Wilkinson and his wife Tina of Riverton; a niece, Emma Wilkinson of Riverton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Alfred Eggers, and paternal grandparents Benjamin K. and Helen Louise Wilkinson.
Memorials may be given to the Fremont County Alliance Against Domestic Violence.

Natalia (Menchaca) Mulherin (46) passed away October 9, 2000 in Portage, IN. She was born to Hipolito and Angela Menchaca in Greybull, WY on January 23, 1954. She attended Shoshoni High School in Shoshoni and there married her life-long companion, Carl Mulherin. They lived in Casper for many years relocating to Portage, IN. She is survived by her husband, Carl Mulherin, Portage, IN; daughters, Crissi (David) Flores, Lake Station, IN; Cara Mulherin, Portage, IN; Megan Mulherin, Portage, IN; sons, Alex Mulherin, Portage, IN; Seth (Ryan) Mulherin, Lander, WY; mother, Angela Menchaca, Belen, NM; sisters, Tina Smith, Riverton, WY; Hope (Richard) Herrera, Belen, NM; Teresa (Charlie) Archuleta, Casper, WY; brothers, Hipolito Menchaca, Jr., Armand (Stacey) Menchaca, Albuquerque, NM; Augustin Menchaca, Casper, WY and numerous nices and nephews.
Services were held Friday, Octber 13, 2000 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Portage, IN.

Jane S. Biggs died Friday afternoon, Oct 20, 2000 at Wind River Healthcare Center in Riverton. She was 83 years old.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Connecticut.
Jane Shaw was born Aug 5, 1917, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Frank Stinson Shaw and Helen Elise (Valentine) Shaw.
She married Benjamin R. Reiter, who preceded her in death in 1965. she then married George P Biggs in Southport, Conn., on Feb 12, 1969. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Mrs. Biggs moved from Connecticut to Wyoming in November 1999 to be near family.
Her family says she enjoyed golf, painting, traveling, yoga and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Biggs was a member of the Congregational faith.
Survivors include sons Brian R. Reiter of Miami, Fla., William S. Reiter of Riverton, G. Whitney Biggs of New Canaan, Conn., and James P Biggs of Green Farms, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; sisters Ann Carter of Fairfield, Conn and Ruth Spear of Westport, Conn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elsie Shaw, and her husbands, Benjamin R. Reiter and George P Biggs.

WIDMAN - Elsie S. Widman
Funeral services for Elsie Susan Widman of Lander are Wednesday, Oct 24 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. The Rev. Ann Fontaine of Lander and the Rev. Russell Peck of St. James Episcopal Church of Riverton, officiate. Burial follows at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
Mrs. Widman died at the Wind River Healthcare in Riverton on Saturday, Oct 21, 2000. She was 86 years old.
Elsie S. Conners was born the daughter of William and Philena Almeda (Baily) Connors on Jan 17, 1914 in Laramie. She received her formative education in the Laramie schools and was a 1936 graduate of the University of Wyoming with a bachelor of arts degree in secondary education. She earned her masters degree in music in 1965.
Elise married Earl C. Widman on June 14, 1936 in Laramie. He was one of the hired hands on the Conner's daily farm. The couple continued to work with the family's Rosedal Dairy for 11 years, and after the death of her father, returned to its operation until its sale in 1952.
The Widman family ranched four miles west of the Woods Landing Road from 1951 - 1958.
Elsie Widman taught school and gave private music lessons for more than 35 years.
The couple came to Lander in July of 1976. The Widmans were active during their retirement years with their home and gardens. Mrs. Widman continued to teach music until the age of 80.
Survivors include her two sons and families, Edwin and Candace Widman and Roy Widman of Riverton; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.

WOLFF - Edith Wolff
Former Shoshoni resident Edith Wolff, age 75, died Saturday, Oct 21, 2000 at Southview Manor Care Center in Cozad, Neb.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct 27, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Shoshoni, with the Rev. Grayson Gowen officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery at Shoshoni.
Visitation will be from noon until service time on Friday at the Community Presbyterian church.
Edith Brasher was born Sept 18, 1925, at Havana, Ark., the daughter of Dewey and Edith Slay Brasher. She attended school in Arkansas. She later moved to Shoshoni, where she owned and operated a restaurant.
On June 15, 1955 she married Wesley Wolff. They made their home in Shoshoni and Lusk before moving to Chadron, Neb. In 1967, they moved to Valentine, Neb.
Mr. Wolff preceded her in death in 1997 and later that same year she moved to Cozad to live at the Southview Manor Care Center.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three sons, Mike and his wife Chris of Gothburg, Neb., Gerald and his wife Marilyn of Caldwell, Idaho and Wendell and his wife Tena of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Bonnie Massman of Newcastle and Donna Harms and husband David of Lake Stevens, Wash; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter, Tammy Clausen; a brother, Kenney and son-in-law Richard Massman.
A memorial was been established in her memory and may be sent to Berryman Funeral Home, PO Box 42, Cozad, NE 69130, which has charge of arrangements.

Ronald M. Carmack, age 58, died at his home in Lander on Monday, Oct 23, 2000 following a year-long battle with cancer.

Ronald Meredith Carmack was born Oct 11, 1942, in Los Angeles, the son of Roy Eugene and Mary (Meredith) Carmack.
Roin married Nerene Gustin on June 22, 1984 in Boulder, Wyoming.
His family says he was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, camping, riding horseback and attending mountain man rendezvous. Ron participated in the One Shot sight-in activities.
He was a self-employed gunsmith.
He also restored old cars and was a member of the Elks and Eagles Lodges.
Ron and Nerene wintered at Lake Havasu, Ariz, and summered in Lander.
Survivors include his wife, Nerene; daughter Kelli Nielsen and son Shawn Carmack, both of Lander; step-daughter LeAnn Dinnel of Casper; step-sons Murray Shattuck of Erie, Colo, and Patrick Shattuck of Casper; a brother, Brent Carmack of Mission Viejo, Calif; and eight grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Jim's Friends of the American Cancer Society in care of Hudson's Funeral Home, 680 Mount Hope Drive, Lander 82520, which has charge of arrangements.

EVANS - Eva Marie Evans
Eva Marie Evans died at her Riverton home on Monday, Oct 23, 2000. She was 92 years old.
Services are Friday, Oct 27 at 10 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. The Rev. Duane Ayers officiates, and burial follows at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Eva Marie Foster was born Aug 6, 1908, in North Dakota, the daughter of Amos and Laura (Moore) Foster. She was a graduate of North Platte High School in Nebraska.
On May 27, 1928, she married Kenneth Evans in North Platte.
They homesteaded in the Ocean Lake area in 1934. Mrs. Evans was a housewife and businesswoman, operating Superior Laundry for several years.
Her family says she loved all children, whom she called "little ones", and enjoyed sewing, painting and crafts. She was a member of the Do and Enjoy Extension Club and the Help-U Club.
Mrs. Evans was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and active in the Ladies Missionary Society.
Survivors include sons Darrel Evans of Casper, Charles Evans of Arizona, Thomas Evans of Washington and Philip Evans of Georgia; daughters Dorothy Putnam of Riverton, Margaret Rolich of Rock Springs, Lucile Sostrom of California and June Steen of Colorado; 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist church.
Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.

McNIVEN - Dorothy McNiven
Dorothy "Dot" Isabell McNiven, 81, of Fort Washakie, died Wednesday, Oct 25, 2000 at Lander Valley Medical Center.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday Oct 30 at the LDS Church in Fort Washakie. Viewing is at 9 a.m. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Burlington.
Dorothy Isabell Johnson (McNiven) was born in Nederland, Boulder, Colo., on Nov 3 1919, the daughter of Arvid Johnson and Selma Alfrieda (Ottoson) Johnson. She grew up at a coal mine four miles north of Garland, Wyo. She attended school in Garland and then Powell.
She married Fondell "Dell" Scott McNiven on Sept 25, 1940 in Billings, Mont. They lived at Pahaska Teepee near Yellowstone Park, Rawlins, Worland and Afton.
Dot McNiven was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Robert, George and James; sisters, Edith, Mildred, Helen and Emma, and her husband, Dell, who died in 1990.
Survivors include brothers Douglas Duncan of Ogden, Utah, and Donald Duncan of California; a daughter, Carol Williams of Lander; sons Dennis of Billings, Mont, Sylvan of Orem Utah and Kevin of Fort Washakie; 28 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Her family remembers Mrs. McNiven as a good cook. She operated three cafes and cooked for a time at Star Valley Hospital, then at the Star Valley Swiss cheese factory, the U.S. Forest service insect control project, and the Nuway Cafe. She retired as a seamstress from the Paul Petzoldt Outdoor Clothing and Supply at the age of 62.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served a family history mission in Salt Lake City, then continued her genealogy work as librarian in the Lander Family History Center.

Funeral services for longtime Lander and Hudson resident Georgia Otte, age 84, will be from the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct 30. Burial follows at the Hudson Community Cemetery.
Georgia Otte died at her home on Monday Oct 23, 2000.
Georgia Jureta Lane was born to Cornelius Earl and Josie M. (Kerr) Lane on July 28, 1916 at Freewater, Ore. She married Leroy Hulen Otte on Dec 25, 1955 at Hudson.
Mrs. Otte worked at Wyoming State Training School for 10 years.
The family lived in Nevada for a time and came back to the area in 1947 to the Rock Creek area near Atlantic City. In 1951, when it became time for the children to start school the family moved into Lander.
Mrs. Otte taught pre-school in Hudson from 1966 through 1972 and helped out at the El Toro Supper Club from 1970-1975.
Leroy and Georgia Otte were active square dancers. After Mr. Otte's death on March 27, 1975, she moved to Casper to be near family, until 1979. She moved into Pushroot Village of Lander in 1981.
Georgia Otte was accomplished in crocheting, embroidery and knitting. She was a longtime member of Pythian Sisters, the Milford Home Ec Club, was a past secretary of the Lander American Assocation of Retired Persons and the Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughters Charlene and Donald Glasgow of Casper, Ginger Starnes and Maralyn and Jim Jackson of Riverton, Dana and Tom Collins of Lusk; one son, David and Charlotte Hanson of Riverside, Calif; daughter-in-law Bessie Otte of Lander; 19 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren ad 12 great great grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.

Ada Marie Whiteplume, age 71, died at the Lander Valley Medical Center on Friday, Oct 27, 2000.
A litany service will be held at the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander, at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct 30. Her body will be taken to the family home at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, where a litany service will be held at 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov 1 at 10 a.m. at Blue Sky Hall on the Wind River Indian Reservation, with the Rev. George Wells of Kinnear officiating. Burial follows at St. Michael's Cemetery.
Ada Marie was born to Joseph Waterman Sr. and Lucy Reed on July 3, 1929 at Fort Washakie.
She married Bert Whiteplume Sr. of Ethete in 1943. Ada was a housewife, and her family said she enjoyed sewing, slicing meat, cooking and being with her family and friends.
She is survived by sons Bert Whiteplume Jr. and his wife Sharon, Francis Whiteplume Sr. and his wife Robert, and George Antelope, all of Ethete; William ""Billy" Whiteplume and his wife Regina of Johnstown Valley; daughters Lucy Mesteth and her husband Philip Sr. of Ethete, Rachel Enos of Johnston Valley and Donna Antelope Thomas of Fort Washakie; brothers Joseph and Francis Waterman and Everett and Marcella Monroe of Arapahoe; sister Ina Blackfeet of Arapahoe; 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Whiteplume Sr.; parents Joseph Waterman Sr. and Lucy Reed; two sons, Richard Whiteplume and Pete Whiteplume; daughter Bernadette "Salome" Whiteplume; sisters Lily Waterman Antelope, Acalea Hanway; and brother Albert Paul and an infant brother.

She was a member of the Episcopal faith.
Survivors include sons Bud Burnaugh Jr of Green River and Bob Burnaugh of Solvang, Calif; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a brother, Mike Bergonzo; and a sister, Jennie Simone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Burnaugh Sr., a brother, a sister and her parents.

RIEWE - Vivian A. Riewe
Memorial services for former Riverton resident Vivian A. Riewe were Monday afternoon Oct 30 from the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Spokane, Wash.
Visitation was Sunday evening at Riplinger Funeral Home in Spokane, and burial at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery preceded the memorial service.
She died Friday, Oct 27, 2000 at the age of 84.
Vivian Anna Davis was born in Winnebago, Minn, the daughter of Clarence Martin Davis and Helen (Sosinski) Davis.
Vivian married Harold Earnest Riewe on Sept 24, 1940. They farmed and raised their family in Minnesota until 1962 when they moved to Riverton. Here Vivian worked for Riverton School District 25, retiring in 1978 after six years as a school cook.
In 1998, Vivian and harold moved to Spokane and lived with their daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Bill Armstrong.
In Riverton, Vivian Riewe was active in the Riverton Trinity Lutheran Church and with the Ladies Missionary League and enjoyed the ladies quilting club.
Vivian is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold Riewe; sons Daryle and Curtis and his wife, Bevery Jean; a brother, Orie Davis; two sisters, Helen Ruth Wolle and Olovle West; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Vivan was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Joanne Armstrong; a granddaughter, Lisa Wilk; grandson Justin Riewe; and a brother, Dale Davis.
