IRELAND - Roy E.
Shoshoni lost another of its beloved pioneer citizens with the death on Thursday, Feb 16, of Roy E. Ireland, hardware merchant there for many years. His death occurred following a long illness.
Mr. Ireland is survived by his wife, Agnes Voss Ireland. Other survivors are: two brothers, Earl Ireland of Central City, S.D. and Fred Ireland of San Jose, Calif; two sisters, Ethel Pferfer of Woods, S.D. and Pearl Margrave of Chadron, Nebr.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Community Church in Shoshoni with the Rev. Glenn Reddick of the St. James Episcopal Church of Riverton officiating. Damon Rosburg sang, with Mrs. T. A. Clark as accompanist. Casket bearers were Fred Northern, Jesse Keith, William Smart, Jesse Teeters, N. P. Nelson and Curt Kaiser.
The high esteem in which Mr. Ireland was held in Shoshoni was attested by the large gathering of friends at the service and the many floral tokens.
Mr. Ireland was born in Creston, Ia., May 16, 1879. On June 28, 1909, he was united in marriage to Agnes Voss of Chicago. He had been a resident of Shoshoni for almost 45 years. In partnership with F. A. Gabus, Mr. Ireland operated the Royal Hardware Co in Shoshoni. For many years he was the town's clerk-treasurer.

DURAN - Mrs. Nora Duran
Mrs. Nora Duran, 19 years old, died Feb 18 at the home of her father, Orlando Antelope at Arapahoe.
Mrs. Duran is survived also by her husband, Alfred and a daughter, Norma Jeane.
Funeral Services were held on Monday afternoon, 2 o'clock, from St. Stephens Mission. Burial was at St. Stephens.

Graveside Services are Conducted for day-old baby
Graveside services for the day-old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Brown of Lost Cabin were held at Mountain View Cemetery Feb 17, the Rev. George Albers of Glad Tidings Tabernacle officiating.
The baby died Feb 17 at Fremont hospital.

HOLLIDAY - J. U. Holliday
Jesse U. Holliday, 66 years old, who operated the store at the Missour Valley turnoff, died at Fremont hospital on Feb 16. He had been in ill health for some time.
Mr. Holliday is survived by a son, Harvey Holliday, who lives in Shoshoni. His wife died here in 1948.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon, 2 o'clock, from the Davis mortuary, with the Rev. R. R. Kreps, Methodist pastor, officiating. Burial was in Mountain View cemetery. Music for the service was by Mrs. Bernard McCoy, Mrs. Arthur McCoy, Miss Margaret Hayen and Mrs. Oliver Lund, with Mrs. E. A. Hayen as accompanist. Casket bearers were John Sokol, C. H. Drescher, F. F. McCallahan, R. E. Stitt, Henry Willman and Bill Fedorchik.
Mr. Holliday's death occurred on his birthdate. He was born on February 16, 1884 at Coffeeville, Kan. He had been a resident of the Missouri Valley are five years.
