GALLINGER - Jean Elaine Parker Gallinger
Jean Elaine Parker Gallinger, age 65, passed away on the morning of Friday, October 29, 1993, at the Lander Valley Medical Center.
She was born on April 11, 1928 in Hemingford, Neb to Clarence Leonard Parker and Mary Margaret Powell Parker.
She married Kenneth Gerald Gallinger. He preceded her in death in 1961.
Mrs. Gallinger taught kindergarten at South Elementary School for 20 years. She also taught school on the Wind River Indian Reservation for several years. Since her retirement, she enjoyed her gardening and ranching.Mrs. Gallinger is survived by her son, Kent "Buzz" Gallinger and her daughter, Terry Gallinger, both of Lander.
She is also survived by her four brothers - Les Parker of Lander, Leonard Parker of Riverton, Glen Parker of Rawlins and Forrest Parker of Casper, and her sister Carol Coates of Lander. She was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov 1, at 3:30 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church. Father Bob Eldan will be officiating. Visitation was held at the Hoopes Funeral Home on Monday morning.
Private family graveside services will be held following the funeral at the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the Hoopes Funeral Home, 515 S Second Street, Lander, Wyo 82520.

TEMPLIN - Nettie Frances Templin
Nettie Frances Templin passed away Saturday, Oct 30, at the Westward Heights Nursing Home in Lander. She was 87.
Born Oct 22, 1905, in Hazard, Neb., to Peter Jacobsen and Katherine Wind, she was a housewife who enjoyed needle work, gardening and cooking. She lived in Hazard 18 years, in Mason City, Neb., for 17 years and in Riverton for 53 years.
Mrs. Templin attended grade school in Hazard, high school in Rovanna, Neb., and attended Teacher's Normal College in Kearney, Neb. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Organization, and a member of Arapahoe Grange and the Arapahoe Extension Club.
She was married to Haza V. Templin on Sept 2, 1925, in Kearney, and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her mother and father, two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include daughters Bonnie I Fields of Lander and Dotty Jean Thompson and husband Cody Charles Thompson; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held early Monday at United Methodist Church with Rev J. Holland Vernon officiating. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Riverton United Methodist Church or to Westward Heights Nursing Home in Lander.
Arrangements were in care of the Davis Funeral Home.

MANN - Walker McGriff Mann
Walker McGriff Mann of Lander passed away Oct 26, 1993, in Denver.
He was born June 3, 1923, in Sherman, Texas to Will and Beula May Mann. He married his wife Effie May Mann on August 1, 1952. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps in Italy.
He was a retired postal worker and worked for U.S. Steel at Atlantic City and for several other businesses in the Lander area. A member of the Baptist Church, he also served on the zoning board and the Head Start board prior to retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Davey Mann; and three sisters, Charlotte Keys, Margarette Quinton and Helen Jackson.
Mr. Mann is survived by his wife, Effie Mae Mann of Lander; his daughters, Donna Bonicelli of Thornton, Colo; Tracy Nelson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Gwen Cameron, who is currently living in Shonenberg, Germany; a son, Ron Gray of Yakima, Wash, two brothers Elliot Mann of Amarillo, Texas, and J. W. Mann of Detroit, Mich; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Cremation has taken place and services were held at the First Baptist Church in Lander last week.

Cecil Rector, a 50-year Riverton resident and homemaker, died Monday, March 6, 1995, at Wind River Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was 85.
The Rev. Earl Detwiler officiates at 11 a.m. Wednesday funeral at Mountain View Cemetery.
Cecil Benedict was born June 7, 1908, In Minot, N.D., the daughter of ............... jamin Benedict.
She married Orion F. Rector on July 9, 1926 in Montana.
The Rectors came to Riverton from Bairoil 50 years ago.
Cecil Rector was a homemaker. She enjoyed her grandchildren, fishing, the mountains and long car rides.
Survivors are her husband..................................... Beatrice Hinkle and Billie Heinrich, both of Riverton; 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Vera Heinrich.
Memorials to Cecil Rector may be made to a charity of the donor's.................................

DALL - Rolland Dall Sr.
Rolland Albion Dall Sr., a Korean War veteran who worked as a hydraulic engineer and moved to Shoshoni 18 months ago, died Monday, March 6, 1995, at his home
He was 59, and had been stricken with cancer.
Services for Mr. Dall are arranged for 2 p.m. Friday, March 10, at the Church of Christ. the Rev. Dave Dowlen officiates.
Rolland Albion Dall Sr., was born May 14, 1936, in Brunswick, Maine, the son of Helen (Goodenow) and John Dall.
He served with the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Mr. Dall married Ora B. Moody on Oct 23, 1961, in Bath, Maine.
He spent nearly 15 years working as a hydraulic engineer for N.E.P.C.O. Oil Co., and moved to Shoshoni about a year and a half ago.
Rolland Dall enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors are his wife, Ora, of Shoshoni, sons Gary and John Dall of Brunswick, and Timothy and Rolland Dall Jr. of Camas, Wash; daughters Sherry Munoz of Edgewood, NM and Lorreann Dall of Camas; 19 grandchildren; two brothers, Carl and Raymond Dall and a sister, Mamie Prendall, all of Brunswick.
Mr. Dall was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Christine Dall in 1994 and brother Richard Goodenow in 1994.
Donations in memory of Rolland Dall to little Wind Hospice would be appreciated by the family. They may be made in care of the Davis Funeral Home.

JOHNSTON - Sylvia Johnston
Sylvia Johnston of Lander died June 2, 1997 at Morning Star Manor in Fort Washakie. She was 84.
Services are Friday June 6 at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Mt. Hope, Hudson Funeral Home, with Mel Ashby of the Church of Christ officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, June 5, from 1 - 9 p.m. and until noon on the day of the services. Burial is set for Mount Hope Cemetery.
She was born January 25, 1913 in Whitehouse, Ohio to Francis and Etta (Flowers) Studer.
Sylvia married Raymond Alexander Johnston in Garden City, Kansas on June 5, 1934. They moved to Lander and ranched in the Twin Creek area for many years.
In 1954 they built the Silver Spur Motel and later the Silver Spur Bowling Ally. They sold the business in 1969.
Raymond preceded Sylvia in death on April 19, 1970. After his death, she started work at the Wyoming State Training School and retired in 1982.
Mrs. Johnston enjoyed rock hunting and fishing. She was an avid bridge player and bowler. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jerry Ottolini of Ukiah, California; five grandchildren - Cord Cristando of Price Utah; Geraldine Cristando of Redwood Valley, California; Blaine Cristando of Ukiah California and Tisha Rose of Eureka California (sic - one is missing); and six great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Dare to Care Animal Shelter in care of Hudson Funeral Home, Mount Hope Drive, Lander, Wyoming 82520.

Helen Buss died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at her home in Riverton. She was 82 years old.
Services are Tuesday, June 22 at 10 a.m. from the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. Cremation has been arranged.
Helen Tosh (Buss) was born Jan 24, 1917, in Scarth, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of David and Mary (Talbert) Tosh. She grew up on a farm at Langbank, Saskatchewan, where the family moved in 1918.
Helen attended a two-year Bible Course in Caron Port, Sask, and worked at a hospital in Wayburn, Sask, after which she moved to Medicine Lake, Mich. In 1959, she moved to Fort Meyer, Fla, and two years later moved to Billings, Mont. Mrs. Buss worked as a nurses aide, primarily in retirement homes.
On Oct 3, 1952 she married Norm Buss in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. He preceded her in death on Jan 25, 1985.
Survivors include a stepson, Gerald Buss, daughter Debbie Hardy of Riverton; stepdaughter Eleanor Wawro; five grandchildren, including Brandy Hardy of Daytona Beach, Fla, and Dale Hardy of Riverton; three great grandchildren; brothers George Tosh and Bill Tosh and sisters Isabell Tosh and Elizabeth Read, all of Canada.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

MILLER - Albert J. Miller
Albert J. Miller of Riverton died at Riverton Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Aug 7, 1999. He was 79 years old.
Services are Tuesday, Aug 10 at 10 a.m. from St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Riverton, with the Rev. Larry Fedor officiating. Interment follows at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
A rosary is Monday at 7 p.m. from the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
Albert John Miller was born Jan 30, 1920, in Pittsburgh, Pa, the son of Lawrence and Marie Miller. During World War II, Al Miller served with the US Navy.
He married the former Agnes June Urbigkeit in San Francisco on May 5, 1945. She preceded him in death.
He was an electrician and came to Fremont County in 1948 to work on the Boysen Dam project and had remained in the area since that time.
Mr. Miller was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church and a life member of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers.
His family says his interestes were family-centered and included his grandchildren and sports.
Survivors include sons Terry Miller of Spokane, Wash., and Pat Miller of Laramie; daughters Cherie Perry and Shirlee O'Hearn of Castle Rock, Colo., and Karen Davison of Riverton; six grandchildren; a brother, Edward Miller of Fairfax, Va., sisters June Bair and Bea Baird of West Mifflin, Pa.
In addition to his wife, Al Miller was preceded in death by his parents.

MERRILL - Earl D. Merrill
Longtime Fremont County resident Earl D. Merrill died at Riverton Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Oct 9, 1999. He was 78 years old.
In his memory, the family will have an open house at 608 Spencer in Riverton from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 12.
Earl Merrill was born Dec 7, 1920 in Elm Creek, Neb., the son of Daniel Robert and Grace (Turnell) Merrill. He guided for a dude ranch in his younger days, guiding dudes into the backcountry of Fremont County and up to the galciers in the Wind River Mountains.
Mr. Merrill married Lela I. Portlock on Oct 10, 1938 in Lander. They ranched in the Crowheart area for 14 years. He later worked for Riverton Valley Electric Association, helping install the first electric lines from Riverton to Dubois. He retired after 30 years with RVEA.
Mr. Merrill served on the school boards for Morton and Crowheart.
His family says he enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, boating and all outdoor activites, but his main interests were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Earl Merrill is survived by his wife, Lela, of Riverton; three daughters, Evelyn Willenbrecht of Wright, Virginia Rogers of Norco, Calif., and June Locker of Laramie; a brother, Leonard Merrill of Lander; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Lions Eye Bank, in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main, Riverton, WY 82501, which has charge of arrangements.
