FREMONT COUNTY LOOKUP VOLUNTEERS

If you have a Fremont County resource, or can look up resources, please consider helping others.

TIPS WHEN ASKING FOR A LOOKUP

1. Keep your request short and specific. i.e. Please look in your books for references to Jane Doe who lived in Anytown, Wyoming.

2. Asking for Xerox copies to be mailed = I will pay for cost of copies and postage. Be sure to ask for their costs and their mailing address.

3. Don't post your request to any mailing list. You may want to bookmark this lookup page for quick access. Click on the name you select that may fit your needs. This sends your request directly to the volunteer and sets in motion private communication between you and the volunteer. Communicating through the list runs the risk of clogging up the list archives.

4. Be considerate of the volunteer and don't ask for more than two lookups at a time.

5. If you are looking for a volunteer to do extensive research, be up front with your request. Many volunteers cannot do extensive research, only quick lookups for names and dates. Since extensive research takes a lot more time, effort and more costs, it is only proper to offer up front to pay for this research. Establish an agreement ahead of time.

Colleen Coleman wyoeagle@webtv.net - I can do lookups for nothing, then if that person requests extensive work I will then contact that person privately and make arrangements to cover my costs etc for the more extensive research - Court House, LDS Library, Fremont County Library, Cemetery, phone books, etc., museum if necessary. I will even talk to people at the local Sr Center here about people who were here at one time. Linda Livingstone - lliving51@gmail.com - I don't live in Wyoming, however I do have access to three books that may be useful. Women of Wyoming Vol. 2 (a rare find, Vol. 1 is more common and that one I don't have), Tales of Old Lost Cabin, and Kathleen's Book an Album of Early Pioneer Wyoming. I will do lookups in these. I can also do on line lookups. Also, I have an all name index to the 70 year diary of Lovinda Swaim Robson, postmaster of Lysite/Lost Cabin.
Mary - fremontwy-wyo@genealogyalongtherockies.com - We have the following Shoshoni annuals and will do lookups:

1949, 1962 thru 1978, 1980 and 1981
