Genealogy Coffee & Wine Bar at the Black Rock Clock is a modern industrial café wine bar that showcases exceptional design, specialty coffee and boutique wine with an artisan attitude for quality food and service.
With an old school charm, a strong social awareness and passion for the pursuit of excellence this business is a reflection of the modern industrial era where honesty, respect and pride in ones work was paramount.
The vision shows best thing about food is how it brings people together, shared experiences, lingering for that something extra. Old style-hospitality and new-style food, great quality creates heritage.
Developed by Duncan Thomson of Thomson & Co and award winning design team Eades & Bergman, this beautifully designed venue will feature custom furniture and lighting, serving Seven Seeds Coffee through a hand made La Marzocco coffee machine, hand selected boutique wines and craft beers from some of Victoria’s best winemakers and brewers.
Chef Harris Ryan will head up the culinary team bringing a passion for local produce and a focus on development and execution. With an exceptional pedigree working in some of Australia’s most respected restaurants, Harris Ryan has worked alongside the likes of Matt Wilkinson and Jake Nicolson (Circa, The Prince,) Mark Best and Matthew Germanchis (Pei Modern, Pandora’s Box) and Stephanie Alexander’s (Richmond Hill Cafe and Larder).
The Genealogy Along The Rockies Wine list is a constantly evolving collection of Victoria’s most celebrated Winemakers. The hand-selected list showcases the depth of the Victorian regions with a true artisan attitude to the craft of winemaking.
We are proud to work closely with these master wine makers allowing us to share some outstanding unique small batch wines.
Cellar Door
Focusing on small-batch producers as a platform to present hidden gems and experimental blends, Ebenezer’s Cellar Door is open every day, the perfect place to try some undiscovered bottlings with the option to sit in with a glass and tasting board, or pick up a bottle or two to take home. A small tasting fee applies.

Private Wine Masterclass with owner Duncan Thomson, a tailored tasting exploring specific varietals or our diverse range of boutique Victorian wines and winemakers. The relaxed nature of our tastings encourages guests to learn the language of wine in a casual and welcoming environment.
